What Does Working with a Travel Advisor Look Like? 

At The Wayfarer Agency, I offer boutique-style travel planning. This style of planning is high-touch, personalized, and built on a foundation of trust, professionalism, and service.

Over the past few years, I’ve noticed a lot of misconceptions about what travel advisors do. One of the biggest? That we spend our time endlessly price shopping or chasing deals. While securing great value is always a priority, my role goes far beyond finding "cheap trips."

I am not a mass-market vacation provider. I work intentionally with a small number of clients at a time to deliver thoughtful, curated travel experiences, and I pride myself on giving each trip the time and attention it deserves.

Working Together: My Process 

When you choose to work with me, you are hiring a professional, and we enter into a working agreement together. Here’s how the process works:

Step 1: Discovery Call 

Upon receiving your inquiry, I will send my calendar availability where you can select a 30-minute planning call to discuss your travel goals, preferences, and wish list.

Step 2: Ready to Proceed? 

If you’re ready to move forward with your trip:

  • I send over my professional service agreement for you to read and acknowledge.

  • You’ll also receive terms and conditions, booking form, insurance waiver, and credit card authorization forms, all of which must be acknowledged.

Step 3: Service Fee 

At this point, I charge a non-refundable planning fee, which reflects the time, expertise, and custom work involved in creating your travel experience.

Step 4: Proposal Stage 

Once all paperwork and planning fee payment are complete, I begin the quoting process. I will provide up to 3 customized proposals tailored to your preferences, goals, and price point.

Step 5: Booking & Support 

We refine the details together, and once you choose your preferred option, I handle all reservations and provide continued support leading up to your travels.

Why I Work This Way 

Because pricing and availability shift constantly, I only begin the quoting process once clients are deposit-ready. This ensures that the information I provide is accurate, timely, and actionable, and that both of our time is respected.

Please know that while I love hearing travel ideas, sending a quick DM to “price out a trip” without being ready to move forward isn’t how I conduct business. If you’re just browsing or price shopping, feel free to save my info for when you’re ready to book.
