Working with The Wayfarer Agency
What Does Working with a Travel Advisor Look Like?
At The Wayfarer Agency, I offer boutique-style travel planning. This means personalized, high-touch service for a limited number of clients who want trips that feel intentional, seamless, and genuinely special. Not cookie-cutter. Not built around whatever happens to be the cheapest that week.
Over the past few years, I’ve noticed a lot of misconceptions about what travel advisors do. One of the biggest? That we spend our time endlessly price shopping or chasing deals. While securing great value is always a priority, my role goes far beyond finding "cheap trips."
I am not a mass-market vacation provider. I work intentionally with a small number of clients at a time to deliver thoughtful, curated travel experiences, and I pride myself on giving each trip the time and attention it deserves.
Working Together: My Process
When you choose to work with me, you are hiring a professional, and we enter into a working agreement together. Here’s how the process works:
1. We start with a conversation (approx 30 minutes)
Once you reach out, I will provide you with a link to my booking calendar where you can choose a time that works best for you. During our call, we'll chat about your travel ideas, must-haves, deal breakers, and wish list. This conversation allows me to understand what you're looking for and to give you a clear, realistic picture of costs, timelines, and what's possible before we move forward.
2. Moving forward together
If we decide that we are a good fit, I will send over my Planning Fee Agreement. This ensures that we are aligned on expectations and how we will work together.
3. Planning Fee
Before any research or itinerary design begins, a non-refundable planning fee is collected. This fee covers the time, expertise, and professional research required to thoughtfully design your trip. Simply put, custom planning begins once the fee in in place.
4. I design your options
Once all the paperwork and fee is collected, I begin curating your itineraries and you will receive up to 3 tailored proposals aligned with your goals, timeline, and travel style.
5. You choose, I take care of the rest
Why I Work This Way
Travel pricing and availability change quickly. I begin in-depth planning only once a client is ready to move forward so that quotes are accurate, current and realistic. This approach allows me to give my full attention to clients who are committed to creating a well-planned trip, not just browsing ideas.
